is there even 1 loctician in the world that dont destroy dreads?

Dreading Methods

nah it's all good, Alden in particular stresses that, he was one of our first members and has had crocheted locks and restarted more naturally so he knows firsthand, plus tells people to read about other people's personal experiences on this site be4 deciding what they want, then follows through with their decision, which is really how it should be.so in a way, I think we're both on the same page.

alden on the site is really good to, very honest an upfront, tho idk if he was still doing dreadlock work on the side or if it was a short term thing, him and amy were always upfront about things.

General Talk

all I can say man is it'll happen, I went from lookin like complete shit to how I do now (imo a good change, lol )I can't explain how exactly the hairs always form and lock, but they always come together.early on is the most frustrating and discouraging time, sometimes it helps to just see other people that have gone through the same, hang in there man :)

1 and a half month old dreads and water

General Questions

Hey man, I live in FL to, the heat can become miserable (especially lately because my cars air conditioning stopped working)I waited maybe 5days to wash my first time,I'd imagine that first wash felt awesome :)go to the beach when you get a chance, the salt water is great for your locks, helped mine alot in the past.have fun at the water park (wetNwild?)also sometimes in this ridiculous heat we've been having and I know my hair will dry fast outside, I'll just get my hair intentionally soaked if I'm not really doing anything important.

Beads..

General Questions

just find a bead that fits nicely, doesn't easily slip off, and slide it on, peyote stitches work really well,I wouldn't use anything else to keep em in unless you really really liked the way it looked.

lolyeah, I have a feeling the roots might have to be tighter before it would work. but it's fairly easy once you try it.

I had actually wondered that same thing, but that was like that be4 I even knew what this was, in reality I think the reason that one looks like that is because it feels alot softer and flexible (and more like a true dreadlock than the smoother one (which in comparison feels much stiffer from all that wax I used in the past)but I was actually planning on doing just that to see what the long term effects of this might look like.

that's why I said it's good to temporarily keep your loose hair around the roots before you go somewhere such as a job interview or such, and unlike palm rolling it'll stay like that for awhile, and potentially help keep your roots loose hair together, personally I think this one practice has helped some of my roots regain thickness from months of separating.SE I know your against any tampering with your hair other than separation but this is just something you do with your hands and it doesn't screw up your locks in any way since there is no aggression in it.So to me it makes sense to do something like this be4 going into a interview or something similar even if it helps only slightly, that being said, what I'm really wondering is if this even has the same effect on other people's locks.
