Hair growth direction from the scalp?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Thanks Valerie! I figured I trained it one way, then ill train my hair the other way. Lol. It's not that much in my face, but I've learned to let go and let time take its change.

Hair growth direction from the scalp?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

O yea I neglected it after 1 month, but my hair use to grow all different directions, meaning hairs coming out the scalp, but its like when I brushed so much, it trained my hair to go that certain way. Was just wondering if there's a way to do something about it, like relax the root of your hairs or idk..

Hair growth direction from the scalp?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Well I had short hair before I began to grow out my dreads,And I used a brush alot and my hair is still growing in that same direction. The top is the main problem, before dreads I even would make it wet and slick it back, but that would last just a day, it continues to grow forward.. Not really a dreadlock question, but any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

My Dreadlock Journey!

Introduce Yourself

Yea not to mention the heat thats is coming this summer. Lol. But as of the conditions of living in TX I believe its not that bad, especially the more south you get near the border, all types of races and mixes. But were I live at now, outside of the biggest military base, ft hood, killeen is a military town, so you will get looks and many questions if you look to be "different". I've got a good job on base, although I'm ready to leave the military town, I spread my knowledge and facts about dreads to those who don't know.

Ok I get what your saying SE, thanks very helpful. Because i was focusing more on the dreads locking when I'd wash instead of the scalp, but that's somethings ill change, because regardless when it rinse it will be going through the dreads.

At Lapis Lazuli, thanks! Some people didn't want to see the curls go, but I've just always wanted dreads. I did have rubber bands in for the first month, I didn't want any congos to form right away, but a couple days ago I realized some of them were getting locked into the bigger dreads, so i did take them all out.. what a releif as well. Lol.

If jonny is reading this, that's not cool! Lol. But thanks for the info. Plus there "accelerator" spray is a joke, enough said. Lol. But back on subject, I also stopped the crocheting once I realized after you did so, they just fall out next day or next wash. With all my research and information learned, natural is the only way to go. Save money, time and hair. Lol.Quick question, I went on dreadlockshapoos.com and is liquid or bar soap better for my dreads? And how is it using a bar soap on dreadlocks? Well I never used bar soap in my hair ever. Lol. So you rub the bar in the dreads or what?

It's cool Baba. Well it seems that the core of each dread are locking up great, id say the bottom 3/4th of each dread (if that makes sense) are locking up, and i have about 1-2 inches of loose hairs near the root. Thanks again you guys, now that i joined this site ill be posting more instead of just browsing. Lol.

Haha. Thanks Soaring Eagle, the second picture is funny. But like you on YouTube I watched them DHHQ people too, and found there site, figured it was all good to use a kit & with the things I heard and seen about wax, I though I was better off with the waxless kit. Yea right. Lol. I do regret doing my dreads the way I did, but do you think if already too late to "neglect" it or is the damage done? And Baba I used no wax, rarely used that lock peppa, good for your hair or not, it feels like grinded up chalk and leaves your hands rough and just a mess..
