why not retwist?

General Questions

well ok. but for the most part my hair looked like this even before i wanted dreads.soi guessthats why i dont see progress. i never really used tocomb myhair though lol.

dude u got plenty of progress

you dont see those sections? them srartijng to dread? if u tnr u will reset that to day 1 just kep going your doing fine

if you had no sectioning at all and it was perfectly like you just combed it then mayn=be it would be woryh trying but u got pretty much average progres for within 3 months wich many backcombed ir tnred dreads end up exactky where your at

if u weant to add sea salt to the bs well that might help but i think u would undo alot of progress if u start over

General Questions

SE,i figure when i first did them i was not careful enough, and therefore they fell apart. this time around i wouldalso usestuff tohelp them lock, salt water for example.and looking back i dont think itwisted as randomlyas you should. most of the time i was doingnearly equal amounts of hair ineach hand.

backwards progress is progress what would you accomplish> you tnr again and in 2 mnths they fall apart you tnr they fall apart.. just leave em alone and they will dread

lets see em i bet ya thety arent as unraveled as u think

General Questions

i TnR'd about 2 and a half months ago, and almost all of my sections fell apart. i was told that i shouldnt redo them because it destroys progress, but i have none. all of the areas i'd be redoing are completely unknotted. so what progress would be destroyed?

1 month update

Dread Maintenance

well its been about a month maybe a few days more since i went with TnR, and i think overall its going nicely a few sections have come completely undone most only partially and some havent at all. i have a few questions though:

1. a few of my "dreads" go like this: loose roots, very knotted moderately compacted section, a more loose section and then curly tips. is that my hair dreading? (the 2nd part).

2. i have balls of hair hanging off the ends of my "dreads" which are attached only by hair that's fallen out but still stuck inside the section, what should i do about this? cut it off? pull it out(gently)? or just let it hang and get snagged on things?

this picture should show what i mean.

and here's a couple pictures of the rest of my head (right after i washed it)

IMAG1397.jpg IMAG1396.jpg so my third question is how fast does my hair seem to be dreading? slowly, average, quickly? as usual any and all replies are welcome.

just starting out, need advice and help.

Dreading Methods

im white with wavy hair, its thin and i've already grown it out (below my shoulders now) i was wondering what methods to use and how the end result will look. im not a fan of larger dreads and i have thin hair so ideally i'd like to get alot of smaller ones. (hoping mine will look like jonathan davis from KoRn).
