Twist n rip compared to natural. Why I would recommend natural.

Dreading Methods

I agree! I love the process and seeing how different my hair is every day. Another thing I have experienced is that people around me are able to handle the slow change of my hair rather than such a drastic one. It's a process that you and others around you get to learn from.

Whisper Words of Wisdom. Let it Be

Introduce Yourself

Thanks for the tips and encouragement. 24 hours without touching it, and I think my mindset has begun to change. I'm really enjoying this journey and all the things I'm learning from my hair so far :) I'm really thankful for this site too. It's very encouraging and informative

Whisper Words of Wisdom. Let it Be

Introduce Yourself

Hello everyone. Just joined this community a few days ago, and am on day 3 of tnr dreads. So far I'm diggin' them more and more each day. I am a stay at home mom of 3, and love to make homemade things especially food and crochet things. I must admit I did mess with my dreads on day 2. I know I need to take the advice from the Beatles and "Let it Be". I was wondering if anyone had some good advice on letting go of so many years of fixing our hair. Do beads or wraps help in keeping your hands out of your hair or is that just the opposite haha? Maybe if I just keep singing that song I will get itingrainedin my head.
