Baby Hairs On Top Not Growing

MUCH LOVE EVERYBODY!! I haven't been on the site in about 6 years. SO awesome to be back. I'm so thankful for this site because it has kept memories and pictures of my journey before I cut my hair in 2013. I have gone natural since. I do nothing but separate my dreads.
Let me first go over my cleaning methods, I use a like a cookout ketchup bottle - without ketchup of course :) But so i fill it up with water and put a couple squirts of Dr. Bronners liquid castile, whatever fragrance I have (I try different ones because i get tired of the same one and they last for so long). I work it into my scalp, then squeeze everything out, flip them upside down and do the same. I try to be really gentle when drying, I never blow dry.
So I attached pictures of my dreads. The top of my head is thick with baby hairs, with one dread in the front. All the thick short hair on top is about 2 - 3 inches long. I think it may be dry dead hair so i'm thinking about switching my washing method. I think my problem is kind of unique so hopefully we can solve it so if anyone else has this issue, they will know what to do. Thank you for any and all input on this. bless you guys.

how they're changing me.

General Talk

i started getting into dreads about 2 years ago. but 2 years ago i was in the wrong places with some of the worst people. I've learned before this dread journey that violence and hate is wrong. i recently went backpacking for a couple days in tennessee and i just took it all in, like this is amazing. i saw the appalachians i can't even describe how i felt. but ever since then i have been really getting closer to nature. i gave up Facebook and twitter i want a care free and happy no drama life. no violence, no hate just love and respect to everybody in the world, we are all created equal and i feel as if we should treat each other equal. my dream is to go to africa and just spend time and have fun with all the people their, theirs so many cultures and i think that is awesome.

i have had dreads for almost 2 months and i already they have struck a spiritual influence on my life. a lot of my friends don't like them, but I've learned that i shouldn't care about that. after all, life is too short to be unhappy and regretful but this may be the best thing that has happened to me because i just feel like my dreads became a new part of me, and they will grow into me, maybe they haven't yet maybe they have. but spiritual gain works inside of you.

i think it would be inspiring just to hear how other people's dreads changed them. i appreciate this site as well as all of the amazing people i have met on the way. stay happy and nappy and every things gonna be alright. :)

twist and rip vs back comb

Dreading Methods

back comb damages hair more and causes them to become a lot shorter
