I get why people use wax now...
Dread Maintenance
Yes! Just leaving them alone is so nice. It's so much fun to see them change and loop up!

Thanks guys, yeah it's kind of a crappy vid so you can't really tell, but they are doing good and they are finally shrinking up! I was thinking the shrinking thing was never going to happen to me, at six months it finally did though. I've lost maybe 4 inches or so from the overall length, but a few of the really twisty loopy bad boys shrank up to less than half their original size. I love watching them loop up all wild.

I had long hair down to my waist and was completely and totally unable to manage it, style it, comb it, etc. Dreads it was!
Yay! I agree, you don't have to do anything to them. I've never crocheted or anything, I love mine!
I've had my dreads seven months (almost) now, and have never had a black person, or any person, say anything racist to me about them. I'm sure they are out there, I see them on youtube and what not, but that's just the internet. Most people in real life don't care how anyone else does their hair.
My boyfriend has two in his hair at the moment, he'd probably have more but he's doing neglect dreads so they are still forming and there aren't a lot of places to put them yet. I just ordered him one more.
Yeah as others have said theres no way that's mature... you could put a bead over it if it bothers you. But personally I love when they do that... or any other "activity" they do. It makes me go, "THEY'RE ALIVE, ALIVE!"
I think you are very beautiful. And I second someone's question earlier, are you insecure about having dreads? Or about how yours look?
Personally I never feel insecure about mine. But I was a pretty confident girl before I got them too... I've always worn the same clothes over and over for weeks and gone out in sweatpants all the time and just basically been this freak when it comes to "normal" society so I just don't really give a crap what others think... at the same time I feel really hot and sexy and beautiful being how I am, and kinda like Sussi said, I actually feel sorry for women who feel the need to conform so much to what society decides is 'good looking'. I feel incredibly lucky to be so free, you should too!
