Introduce Yourself

Ok so I've had my dreads for about 4 months and Im loving them! I used a little bit of every method and did them gradually so a still have some hair that's not dreaded and isn't in big enough sections to dread? Its kind of bothering me because people think I just have a few dreads because of it! I don't want that. A few people have suggested wax but that's not an option for me..any ideas?

Allergic to most plants- dread help??

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Well first of all I'm sorry to hear that! I just recently started mixing up my own shampoo and itchie relief because nothing was working for me. All you will need is bottle of uncsented Dr. Bronners (Is the purple label) and baking soda. I have been using an old shampoo bottle to mix it up in. You will literally need like 2 squirts of dr. Bronners because it's very oily and hard to get out of your hair if you use a lot o the stuff..and then add about 2 tablespoons of baking soda with kind of cancels out the oilyness and then fill the rest with water. I only use it on my roots and my scalp maybeonce every week I'll actually get my dreads all soapy. Oh! And it should suds up a bit..if not add a little more bronners :) also! For the itchies, spray bottle, apple cider vinegar, witch hazel and water is magick :) spay the mixture on your scalp and kind of massage it in amd wrap it in a thin towel or headband and let sit for about 15 minutes and then rince your dreadies out in the shower..you will be amazed what it does for dandruff and itchies! Hope this helps :)

Adding real-hair extensions or "falls" at the root to real dreads?

Dread Accessories

I just added a few real hair extensions to mine the other day! I cut my hair a few weeks ago because i had some long weird stringy pieces that didnt look right so i gave myself a trim and my hair was too short for my liking so just made a few dreads out off these human hair extensions that i had already. I used a comb and a crochet hook to make the new dreads and then got one of my dreads that was the same thickness and cut just a bit off the end of it to make it fray out. Then i took the new dread and frayed the end off that and i used a crochet hook to attach the new dreads to the ends of some of my shorter dreads..some people might not like that but if youre wanting length and fullness it works! maybe ill post i video

ok get a spray bottle and fill a bit less than half with apple cider vinegar and and then if you have it (not vital) a few squirts of witch hazel and dilute with water and shake it up, then pretty much drench your whole head with the stuff and wrap it up..leave it on for 15 or 20 minutes and then rinse youre hair out in the shower..it worked for me! mine was suuuper bad too. ive done that about 4 times now and it completely lifts the dandruff out :) hope this helps!
