is it okay to wet my free form dreads every morning?

Dread Maintenance

i usually wake up in the morning with my hair being really flat in the back of my head and on the sides. i was wondering if i could use a spray bottle to wet my hair in the morning and shake it and if it would affect my hair from dreading in any way? thanks

yikesd!! beeswax!  step 1 write a severely negative review, beeswax destroys dreads

2 get wax b gone and a real dread shampoo from www.dreadlockshampoo.com thats not dandruff its wax

u need wax b gone to remove wax

if your african american go straight to the bar,. caucasian (or non african) liquid til mature then bar

use the wax b gone several times longer then u think u need to to get the wax out

itrs evil, its a scam, its a dread killer

and you need to put that in the review

goodness i never even noticed beeswax in the ingredients thank you omg will be buying a new bar soon !!

2 weeks of free form dreads

I've heard hair sponges mentioned multiple times now. What the hell is a hair sponge?

haha well a hair sponge is basically a sponge for african textured hair that sort of coils the hair so that it can begin dreading.

i started my dreads by using a hair sponge and it has been two weeks since i’ve started my dread journey. currently they are starting to appear slowly and have a small appearance.

Help! Save My Dreads

Duskwood:

Honestly, one of the best advice I've gotten on growing dreadlocks is 'it's about the journey, not the destination'. Try not to worry about how long it takes :) That said, most people seem to suggest not bothering your hair too much, shaking it out after a shower and then letting it dry naturally. I try and do that, I also pat my hair dry with a regular towel just to get the most of the water out. But yeah, I think once you try and enjoy the progress rather than the end result, it is a lot more enjoyable :) Just my two cents! :D

haha well thank you for this. the people i go to for help are really about toweling or sponging or using gels and wax and stuff. i’m gonna try this freedom method now. thank you for the help

thank you for this. i sort of noticed not much change with towel and i’ll try the natural method now. i have some questions though: how do you dry your hair when getting out of the shower? how long does it take to dread? i currently use dolly locks liquid shampoo for my hair and wash every other day

Help! Save My Dreads

i have loose curly hair and i decided to do dreadlocks a while back. i restarted my dreads and decided to do them with only a towel. they were fine and i noticed that my hair became straight a bit and now my hair looks like this! is there any way to fix it or is there a way to do dreads with hair like this?
