Natural dreadlocks, from day 0

@soaring-eagle I always just found it funny, his family did too.

I think you`re very sensitive, probably pick up on vibes others don`t.

Trying to see it your way, yes, it does have a creepy element, But the funny element is more, isn`t it? Particularly as even his mother didn`t pick up on any creepy vibes?

Interesting topic .... when does something become creepy?

What exactly do you find creepy about it?

Looks like your hair always wanted to dread, and now it can! Keep an eye on the size of the section (at the root), however, unless you want very thick dreads; mine are already much thicker than I started out with, seems they get thicker as they mature. God bless! How`s the kitten?

I had a boyfriend who walked in his sleep too.

According to both him and his parents, one night when his parents had visitors he walked across the lounge stark naked and was about to urinate against the terrace door when his mother caught him by the arm and led him off to the bathroom. She then took him to bed. While she was trying to manoevre him into bed he grabbed her arm, pulled her down, leered at her and said, "We´ll have to be quiet, mum will kill me if she finds out I had a woman in here".

Tran Van Hay's Amazing Hair (:

Dreadlock Picture Gallery

Wow, amazing - talk about congos! Small wonder he`s so thin, that must weigh a ton. Amazing too that his beard is white, but his hair still really dark. And no sign of traction alopecia, which shows it has nothing to do with weight and everything with technique. Nice find, @poopiepants!

I think the fact you`re dreaming about it means that it`s a really important step in your life which will bring changes with it.

It looks to me as if it`s sectioning itself pretty evenly, though I`m absolutely not an expert; none of those sections looks really huge, but if one does seem to be getting too thick, you can always brush just that one out and split it into two, I`ve done that a few times .

If you keep the tips loose, (that is don`t blunt them or comb them a little if they start blunting,) they will dry quicker.

Something it might be an idea to prepare yourself for psychologically is shrinkage; they may become a lot shorter as they start to tighten (I think this depends a bit on how fast your hair grows normally).

I only wash mine very early in the morning on days where I don`t have to go out, so they have 4/5 hours to dry completely.

Good luck!

Looking great!

I`d done all my TnR dreads except one with a part, then suddenly thought, shit, you wanted to get rid of the part. So the last remaining dread falls to the other side. One loose strand at the back combines hairs from both sides of the part, and others at the front aren`t parted either. I don`t care for the part, but it`s slowly kind of disappearing.

I wouldn`t part it if I were you!

Crochet method-listen to the breakage

crochet and dread tools recovery

I thought the idea was brilliant, and the self-sacrifice amazing, but as soon as the crochet started I switched off. Just couldn`t stand it.

Super long stray hairs

Dread Maintenance

@soaring-eagle that sounds beautiful, wish I could see it! I`d like some beautiful beads too, just can`t find any I like. Carved bone or horn, shells or feathers, natural materials (I loathe synthetics). Guess I`ll have to make some myself.
