Don’t quit. Sometimes it takes long. I’ve known people to take upto 18 months to even start locking up. Part of it will depend on your hair tyoe. A big part. Then there is a number of factors also such as how often you wash your hair and with what. but don’t give up. You’ve come this far and sometimes it can be hard or get discouraging but if you wait it out you’ll be happy in the long run.
Agreed. it’s just hair is right. it’s a personal choice and people have dreads for many millions of reasons.

The shampoo they have here is amazing. My dreads are only 6 months in so I use the liquid. It is truely the best. It helps the dreading process too.😊
Sadlly there are alot of those. when I 1st started researching the ins n outs of having dreds and care how to’s etc I came across a very angry ”Open letter to white people with dreadlocks” and could not for the life of me believe what I was reading. Such hate, such anger and such assumptions about the white people who choose to dread their hair for so very many different reasons whic I might add are personal. There are alot of haters out there. I have come to terms with this and am enjoying my journey anyway. Your hair looks great.
It’s very nice to meet you. Welcome. I’m also 6 months in. This is my 1st time taking this journey. It so happens I was very lucky and came across this site when doing research which took about 1/1/2 years or so before starting. I almost went to a stylist and thank goodness for this site I didn’t. The zig zags are wonderful and amazing. Everyday is a unique experience. You will be so proud of your dreads this time because you’re taking the journey this way. Such an amazing experience. Enjoy!
