Thinning hair/ the dreadful widows peak

Introduce Yourself

Ok, quick question. i have been dreading now for about 5 months. i have a good 12-14 dreads forming towards the back of my head. now looking in the mirror lastnight i really noticed the front of my head has a really back widows peak. i guess it would have started a while ago but never really noticed untill now. two question is there a way to prevent and further balding bc i freak out of the thought of balding. i love my long hair and want to keep it as longs as possible. and second question once the front of my hair begins to dread would my scalp in the area begin to thicken with a hair a little more or is it just the cards i was dealt with from the genetics side??? im only 23 CANT LOSE MY HAIR!!! lol

Dread help

Introduce Yourself

i Havent used anyting but vikis liquid dread shampoo. I have made it to the point where i only need to wash my hair about every 5 days. after that it just gets nasty with grease. My dreading is all natural. now back combing, tnr.etc. i dont do anything with my hair. like i said i have about 6 dreads that are taking off. all located towards the back of my head. i have a few starting on each side of my head but isnt really noticeable unless your reallin looking at may hair. my concern which may be slowing the process is that my hair is so healthy and smooth that maybe i would need to use a shampoo or product that would dry out my hair a little bit for more friction between the hair. ill get pics up asap.

Dread help

Introduce Yourself

HI, im coming up to my month mark on my neglect method dreads. i have super straight hair when i started this. now my question is what can i do to help to improve the process of dreads forming. i have about 6 at the moment that look really good and a couple out of that 6 are pretty much locked up and look like dreads. i have been using a liquid dread shampoo but im feeling like its not really helping. i feel i should have more new dreads starting then what i have at the moment, but then again i could be wrong. any input would be appreciated.

How long should you rinse your hair?

Dread Maintenance

I use Viki's lockin up shampoo. its about 20 dollars to have it delivered to your address and i use it as is. its pretty runny already and pours out almost like water. but get super foamy on the scalp. super cleans the hair. here is the website where i buy it from. http://shop.dreadlockshampoo.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2 . i have had the same bottle since day one. its about half way empty so it may seem expensive but itll last you a while

What natural shampoo/soap would you recommend? And do you dilute it or use it as it is? Thanks.

I have been doing my dread just shy of 2 months now and after reading and using a couple ways of cleaning my hair, i found just using a natural shampoo seems to be working the best for me. I dont have any problems with build up or anything like that. my hair is extremely clean and can feel it after shampooing my hair. i only do that about every 3-4 days and the days i dont shampoo i just rinse with water. With the rain situation i dont think it hurts giong to bed with hair a little damp wheres its mostly dry. i think its actually helps with the lock up process but maybe someone else knows more about that.
