Dread Maintenance

thanks guy! i know they are still young babies so im not overly concerned. Its actually all happening heaps quicker than expected as i have very straight and flowing hair. iv just popped some beads in today (just because i can really) lol, but ill keep updated on my progress. im sure all they need is time.

Thanks!

Dread Maintenance

Your right, they are awesome!! haha..

i do very much love them, but was just wondering if when i put beads on them do i sit them over the chunky part? or will that constrict too much? also if i wanted to put wraps over them, being that they are super flat, ill have to squish them to be more rounded and will that do any damage?

Dread Maintenance

hey guys,

My dreads are doing awesome! they are moving freaking out all over the place and im loving it. the only question is about the flatness of most of my best progress dreads. I used to have hair down to nearly my bum and certain dreads have shrunk up until my shoulders so far. They are all extremely flat with a lot of space between the root (which im sure will just take time to lock up), its the flatness that's driving me mad! i am also aware that with time they will round out and do their thing but some haven't changed for a few months now. Is there anything i can do to help the rounding process? I have put my first bead on one today and will add some more now but should i sit the beads over the flat chunky part of the dread?

would really appreciate some advice :)

ill upload some pics to to give everyone a better idea of what's going on... 20131214100607870.jpg 20131214100611117.jpg

Joining dreads and lots of frizzies - 3 months old

General Questions

hey guys,

Im loving letting my new dreads do their thing but they are seriously trying to join with others all over the place. I'm separating majority of days but its at the very roots that different sections are overlapping into others.Im finger picking a lot of the hairs that dont belong out but now there are heaps of frizzy loose hairs that are creating baby dreads all over the place. Should i just stop picking the hairs out and let the dreads go out until the matting is long enough so that I can rip it apart?

I think im just creating a worse problem by picking out all of the lose hairs. My hair is dreading super quickly and its awesome but this problem is sending me mad!!

Thanks everyone in advance for any responses!

Loving everyday of my frizzy, inappropriate, psychotic dreads!!

Introduce Yourself

Hey everyone! I cant exactly say I'm new as I joined up about 4-5 months ago with my first set of dreads.

I have always admired people with dreadlocks since I was pretty young. It took me to travel half way around the world and back and get the opportunity to be tattooed and blessed by a monk until I realized that life is way too short and to live in the moment every single second of every day. If that means get dreadlocks, well hey.. get dreadlocks! :)

So here I am about 3 months into my natural dreads and everyday is a new adventure with them. they move so quickly that is insane!

I started my first set TnR and I took them out after 2 months because I just wasn't feeling them, way too tight! anywho I took them all out and started them again naturally and haven't regretted the for one day.

This site has been such a help on my journey so far and its awesome to see the support you get from everywhere on here.

Keep up the good work and thanks!!

Help! Save My Dreads

That's so motivating to let them do their thing. I have always felt the need to look so prim and proper and have never had the confidence to make a statement with the way I look but now is that time and I'm loving it more everyday. Thank you
