Ok, thanks. So on alternatives I was asking natural, healthy alternatives like you recommend like different oils and such and what each does. Also can you explain how the process works? I don't understand how not doing anything other than washing with bs can dread up the loose hairs. So if you can just list out different oils and such and other ingerdients and what they help with, and also how often should I wash with BS, and should I scrub it through rinse it out or just leave it or what? How often should I use the salt water and such? And with natural dreads can I keep them in solid dreads without them branching off? Oh, and what is acv? and How do you correctly tnr, know any videos?

Also I read that you want the cuticles flared a bit. Regardless of hot or cold water the ph of the baking soda, lemon juice and just about everything recommended on here throws the ph of the hair toward the acidic side, which flairs the cuticles.
Alternatives like, aloe instead of wax. That's what I was talking about. And no, I specifically said in this that I don't want to let them split. I tried leaving them alone after they split, they just keep growing in two different directions. And Yes I do have to re-backcombed because again I have tried leaving them alone, one of them got bad enough to where it was just normal hair, completely undid itself. I use the baking soda mixture and I use aloe and thyme tea. The only thing I've done that's not natural is backcomb and use residue free shampoo. My hair is not mangled, it's just as oily as it was before, that's what I said originally, that my hair is naturally oily. It works knots out by itself, which is why I'm having trouble. When I left them alone for more than a week they became unknotted.
I need some help here. I havent used wax or anything like that. I was under the impression that backcombing was good until recently. My dreads are 4-6 inches, and they change length quite a bit lately for some reason. I've had them 2 and half months. Since I've quit the backcombing upkeep some of them have come undone and I have loose hair, lots and lots of loose hair. Is there anything I can do to get that loose hair to recombine with the dreads that they were in? I have had trouble with the hair around the lower back of the neck, it just doesn't want to dread. I just need a game plan for them so I quit tugging them in all sorts of directions, natural, backcombing, tnr.
