shikakai soap on locks?
That one is castile based and will leave behind a residue and soap scum in dreadlocks if you have hard water. If your water is soft, then it will not leave behind any residues. Are you asking about the one made by Dr.Bronners? If not, what brand were you thinking of using? 
Let me know which brand, I was just looking over the Dr.Bronners and it does have many oils in it, it also contains citric acid which is not good for dreads. The Dr.Bronners may over condition the hair.
