Hey everyone I have wanted dreads for a while now, and now i think it is time that I actually go through with it. I have been thinking about using the twist and rip method but as you can see in my picture my hair is fairly short so i dont know how i would go about doing this, i am mexican so my hair grows very thick and somewhat wavy if that helps at all. Should i do something to start preparing my hair or should i just go straight into it? any help at all would be great thank you! =] Peace And Love

Honestly, since your hair is so short I would go neglect/natural. Its the best method for your hair (health wise), and with thick curly hair it will be a lot easier than those of us "gringos" with very fine straight hair. You could do some gentle Tn'R as your hair gets longer. I have a brother with Salvadorian ancestry and his thick curly hair doesn't really grow up, it just gets denser, hence T'nRing would help as it gets longer/denser.
