Dread Maintenance

So i have been letting my hair dread for the past 2 months and im seeing some results but not as much as i thought, my hair is not that long but its pretty curly and thick and when i wake up it looks awesome because its everywhere but then i have to go to work and i have to wear a hat so i bought a wool tam but it is wayyy too big so its flattens my hair rather than helps it so for the time being i am wearing a small beanie, i usually do a baking soda rince with sea salt once or twice a week for a half hour, so im wondering if anyone had any tips or knows where i can get a small tam because my head is also very small =[[ any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you both i really appreciate it, would it be a good idea to get a wool tam or wool hat for now to help? and do i just completely stop washing my hair? thank you bless

Introduce Yourself

Hey everyone I have wanted dreads for a while now, and now i think it is time that I actually go through with it. I have been thinking about using the twist and rip method but as you can see in my picture my hair is fairly short so i dont know how i would go about doing this, i am mexican so my hair grows very thick and somewhat wavy if that helps at all. Should i do something to start preparing my hair or should i just go straight into it? any help at all would be great thank you! =] Peace And Love
