ok guys another question. my hair is starting to lock up. but unfortantely my job requires me to tie my hair back for 8+ hours a day and the locks are starting to lock together. should i be pulling them apart to keep the locks seperate? and does it hurt if while im seperating them i twist the locks up to the roots? one of you guys said i should know what my soon to be dreads would want and i feel like thats what they are telling me to do. thanks again for the responces.

pull them apart yes

but no do not twist

twisting them will cause weak thin roots and traction alopecia and balding

the roots should be loose as they want to be theytighten ion thier own over time

Ok thanks soaring eagle. I truly respect everything you say. And I have listened to every but of your advice. I will stop twisting them.I plan on getting a tam? I think is what it's called. But I just started my job and need to wait for my first paycheck. until then I have to use a hair tie.
