im kinda thinking i lack the patience to wait for natural locks, altho im now wondering if this is a good time to learn more patience with everything in my life as i see this as a journey rather than a fashion statement. i would love to see pics of your hair when its done?

My hair is pretty fine and on the straighter side too but I don't think that would be a problem. I've seen plenty of people with reeeeally fine straight hair have awesome natural dreadlocks.

Me, I'm getting my head twist n ripped tonight because I am too impatient to wait on the natural process lolol. I don't like how the back combed dreads look compared to the natural and tnr methods.

i was going to use wax, not anymore. i very nearly spent a fortune on a dread kit till i found this site,

when i tried to go natural i washed once a week with baking soda and thats it, i tried to not touch my hair at all and never finger brushed. the closest i got was one matted but underneath at the back, the rest just didnt do anything apart from look messy. i have very fine dead straight hair so not sure of that had something to do with it?

my hair is oily within a few hours of washing, i hoped not conditioning would help but it didnt :/ i think ive made up my mind to make them rather than wait, am just not sure which would be the best method, there is so much conflicting advice out there...it confuses me haha

ok heres what you do

continure to wash weekly with baking soda no acv add thyme tea to the bs or as a spray on the scalp to be left on

this will slowly make u ess p]oily its the oils that are the issue not the finess

actualy might be better to wash 2x a week at what day do u usualy start getting oily? wash the day after that

then extend it another day till u can go 4 days without being oily at all then just keep wasgh]=hing on that 4th day

add lil sea salt to the mix too

\when it shifts from oily to too dry start slowly ading an acv rinse after the bs but really weak at 1st

3 1/2% of the water volume

manma you gave up after only 2 weeks..way too soon to give up

nikki it will teach u patience for sure

ok start with the baking soda every 2 dat[=ts then no acv

in a week it should let iu go to 3 says 3-4 dat=ys is great if u can get that long withpit being oily your set

oh another tip hot wash cold colc cold rinse

heat removes pils by thinnming them

cold seals the pores closed so no more oils can be pumped out

hey, so i have decided to try a mixture of neglect (again) and back combing several dreads. mostly so i can see what the difference is in how well the locks do in each situation. i currently have 6 dreads, that stick up like sideshow bobs ha and some very messy hair. im planning to do a few more at the nape tonight as i feel thats the area i may need help with, last time i tried neglect that part just seemed to be one big dread. anyway i would like to thank everyone for their help and advice so far :)
