Day 3 of dread journey!

So lol off topic now but.... Wanted to share my 2 week update! (Give a day or so lol) I'm loving my hair and really starting to notice them matting well. Only issues I'm having is since I had to do it myself with no help, the back of my head looks a lil silly. Kinda sparse. The sides and front look great (if I only wanna wear it down forever, if I pull it back to clean or eat[so my hair doesnt get in my food] its really lumpy and weird. Not sure if this will change as they mature) but the back is sparse and some are much bigger than others (base of head locks are twice the size of the front ones) to the point where I was considering redoing them. ? Since I'm only 2 weeks in, and I know as they mature they will swell and it will be more noticeably different, should I redo a few of them to balance it out more? The three at the nape are quite large and having issues locking (keep falling out) and the top of the back of my head looks crazy sparse. Will post pics. Just wantiled a lil insight and ideas from y'all. Also if you could post pics of the backs of ur heads maybe it'll help me make a decision. I can deal with part of my head being 2 weeks behind in maturing but I figured if I was to "fix" it, sooner would be better than later. I had a harder time doing the back with my bum shoulder and carpul tunnel. Hence the size differences and sparsness. Just wanna love my whole head lol not feel like I gotta hide it under a hat forever. I'm worried the sides and front will be mostly uniform and petite and the back will just be 6 big locks. Help! Lol wish I had someone to help me out doing them. Anyway. Here's the pics

The last two pics that didnt upload lol goofy phone. Also in that first pic ^ up there a few from the side fell in. The bottom pic shows the actual back 6. And these pics show the size difference and issues I'm having trying to get them to lock up. Which is funny because before I did all this, the back of my head and nape constantly knotted and locked on its own. Now that I'm trying to do my head in dreads its like theyre throwing a temper tantrum and saying "no!i won't do it cause you want me to now" how childish of them... Bahahahaha makes sense that they need to "mature" ok.. Bad jokes. I laughed tho

If you're considering redoing them already, go for it. I had another set for a few days and wanted better sections, so I redid mine and I'm sooooo glad I did. I took my time sectioning them the 2nd time and they're a lot better. The back of my head is a total mess right now....I'm maybe about 2 1/2 months in. I have a bunch locking wonderfully fast....I have balled ones that decided to lock into a ball....I have about 3-4 that fell back out and are dreading on their own time....I have all different types and sizes everywhere. What I've learned is that they're gonna do what they want, no matter what. If they fall out, and you retwist them, they'll fall out again....and again....and again....those ones require patience to do their thing, just leave them alone when they fall out. Now....as for your sections....the general rule of thumb is 1 inch sections. I did my own too. They were all close to an inch when I redid them.....some are bigger and some are smaller now, where some dreads stole hairs from others. I've had to rip some apart already because they started getting too big. If you're overly concerned with your sections right now, I'd probably redo them personally. They'll only grow bigger over time. If you have some that are too big at only 2 weeks in, they'll be even bigger down the road. Even at 2 months, I can't believe how short and fat mine have gotten.....they were superrrrr thin on day 1.

Also, get some beads and/or cuffs for your problem children. That helped mine lock faster. Make sure to move the beads often though or they'll become permanent (lol)

P.s. the long ones you see in the back, those are my "rat tails" lmao. You can't really tell in pics, but under those on my neck hairline are all balled ones. It's a row of balled ones, then a row of basically normal hair, then shorties/middies all over the top

Lol thanks tater! Yeah I'm just kinda mad at a few th lol I wish I could see the back of my head! Then I could section better. That's all I need! Well, that and to t&r straight down instead of pulling em to one side or another so they'll lay over the back better! Lol but all in all very happy with the whole process!

Lol you're welcome and I know the feeling XD I can't even put them in a ponytail now (except my rat tails ROFL) and when I first did them, I tied them up a lot. The T&R is really just for sectioning. They'll do all kinds of stuff from here on out. Loops hit first, then they go wild from there. Honestly, it won't matter -literally at all- that you didn't t&r straight down. They'll have a mind of their own here in no time ;)

just let them section themselves yes some of those are huge!  just comb them out.. lrt them  section and dread themselve s they wont be 42 weeks behind they will likely dread faster thenn the rest'

several of those could be 4 or 5 or 6 dreads each   at least 3

youd be better off just separating as they dread
