I would give it a good soak in a hot bath and then wash with the shampoo they gave you and them every 2-3 days have a hot shower and wash again and it should be fine.

Most people will tell you when you wash to actually rinse afterwards with cold water as it will close the pores and stop your scalp from getting so oily.

No problem.

Stick around though and upload photos of your progress as the months go by.

There's nothing people with dreads enjoy more than seeing someone else's dreads grow.

thats a lie

read up on wax on here before we got wax b gone literaly 40% of the people who joined lost 1-6 sets to wax there is no tiny amount thats safe it nevr washes out..ever.. and it will not alow them to dread

its a scam

in fact demand a refund from the locticians .. if she didn't know was was a dread killer she has no right takimg your money for dreads (ofcourse the crochet and 'boxing' are also absolutel terrible! boxing is interlocking aka root flipping aka Zulu knotting aka rooting and a dozen other names.. whyso many names// because its well known that if a dreads going to break at the root only 1 thing will cause that..interlocking

but instead of stopping this horrible practice they just change the name to hide from its bad rep

1 www.dreadlockshampoo.cfom makes wax b gone .. use it

2 they make the best shampoos oo the liquid helps them dread faster.. however

if the dreads are stiff and tight from the crochet you need them to loosen up fast! (never go back to her..evr) they are too tight to dread crochet usually delays dreading by 6 months and takes 3 years to lose the stiffness if tight

(plus it breaks thousands of hairs)

if you have elastic bands in remove them immediately!

wash at least weekly washing is what makes dreads dread

now about your job https://www.dreadlockssite.com/dreadlocks-forums/forum/dreads-jobs-employment-issues/110594/dreadlocks-and-employement-laws-your-rights-to-wear-dreads-in-the-workplace-explained

your boss cannot say squat aout yur dreas (if the y were natural by keeping them neat you give uo your only right and legal defence0

wax is a hydrophobic hydrocarbon

the defining features of wax

hydrophobic (repells water)

firm but malleable at rom temps (it hardens inside the dreads0

has a melting point of at least 140 f skin burns at 160 f trying to use hot water to remove it is dangerous. people have boiled their dreads and not gotten the wax  out

iff it repells water and is hard up to a temp nearly hot enough to blister skin.. how can it wash out easily/

we have had 4 year ld dreads.. waxed once with the same amount as you  then cut off

the inside was disgusting all kinds of dirt and crap stuck to the wax

the dread split in 1/2 easily with fingers cause it never actually dreaded

heres the shocking part after being split down the center..it wass palm roled for 1 minute and the 4 year old wax gluedit back together ..yu couldn' even tell it was ripped in 1/2!

wax is a scam..and a dread killer

this site is why  40% no longer lose dreads to wax and only 1 in about 200 make the wax mistake now (and  find out how bad it was within days)

now other concerns

crochet makes dreads super naturally tight which means 1/3 to 1/5th the size of a healthy dread so they make the sections huge to compensate

if you let your dreads recover they will get as thick as the sections at the scalp

are any over r an inch/ like the size of ba quarter or so/

Our dreads aren't stiff. There was not alot of crocheting done, it seemed more like a touch up type thing she did at the end. I can strip the wax. I'm a little upset that the interlocking is so damaging. I wonder why it was done. Will it prevent my new growth at the root from locing up in the future? I wish there was a way to undo that. So from this point on...strip the wax and just make sure the sections stay separated? Oh, and definitely none of our dreads are over an inch, not even close.

not the dreads the sections at the scalp

after abut 2 days undoing interlocking does more harm then its worth it will only temporarily prevent the roots from locking cause they need to be pretty loose early on but as they grow out  they will loosen and start to dread

the most common issue with intelocking (if done once or twice) isn't them breaking off  but just gaps holes or odd crinkl looks or even hard spots that maybe permanent

it does remove all shock absorption and elasticity at that point, and weakens it by a minimum of 35% so they are snap points

the biggest problem if done as maintenance is balding  forcing the roots to be tight causes traction alopecia. it damages the blood vessels in the scalp and the hairs die and wont grow back without therapy (our pPanterra has saved some I thought were beyond hope)

once you have traction alopecia it takes a lot o effort and time to recover and many are beyond hope ogf recovery theres a point of no return at wich point only a transplant will help

this is why we stress to avoid all locticians and dread salons and dread makers and lock masters and whatever ey want t call themselves.

less then 1% in the world has any ethics at all

in truth if the crochet was done a lot that would be the biggest problem .. wax years ago we would recommend starting over ..now wax b gone will get it out

wet hair well (hot water does help)   squeeze a generouse amount into te dreads.. use as much as you need to really get it I  there  wait at least 10 min or more 30 if you want then wash well  (hot water again)

with the little amount used you might be ok with 1 use but generally recommend doing it a few times to be certain
