i got my dreads four days ago with the backcombing crochet method. the girl that did them said they should lock up fast that i shouldnt wash for at least the first three weeks. is it best to wait or should i just wash now
just wash it...wash when you feel the need..like every 2-4 days depending on how you feel. Since she crocheted they will puff a little but don't worry it should go down. try the baking soda/acv rinse and just leave them to get themselves in order 
and she probably told you to go back for maintenance, but don't worry about it. It's really not necessary and can actually bedetrimentalto the dreading process..it only helps to make it look dreaded but real dreading happens on it's own
