so this week will be soaring in a competition

this is the pre start gaggle

could be 20-40 gliders circling in tight circles in a invisible column of rising air

then use a combo of thermals (rising columns of heated air) and ridge running (maybe even wave) if conditions permit to fly long distances around the course.

finally getting on final glide and a high speed race to the finish

theres also a possibility of an off field landing
