Got dreads last week. Need help.

Ok, So last week me ex-roommate dreaded my hair. How she did it was she parted my hair with rubber bands, and she added wax (dread head hq) and twisted, than put rubberbands at the bottom.

I've been maintainting them every day. I twist and put wax in them. I tried back combing them but they're all greasy now and the comb goes through alot of the times so I stopped doing this. I also use a blow dryer when I'm done

Now, some of them formed at the bottom but are very loose on top. I'm attaching a picture of what they look like, they're pretty loose and not that good. I was wondering if the way I'm doing this is wrong, if these are ever actually going to form into dreads. Also, I was wondering if I should go to a salon to get them fixed, I know of one that does them for $50.

Thank you for the help. Attached is a pic.

Also, I should probably mention, I have naturally thick, brown hair.

Never use wax. It is no good for dreads. The companies sell you them because they want to make a profit. Nearly everything theyrecommendis bad for dreads. So... remove the wax asap. You can use wax-b-gone. It is the best for wax removal, but you will still need mustiple applications. It sounds like you used too much wax. Also, it looks to me as if it wasn't back combed properly. Nevermind. When you get the wax out use the twist and rip method. It's far less damaging.

u ddidnt "get dreads' u never "get dreads' u grow dreads u allow dreads

even if you backcomb tnr oe]r get ripped off at a salon your not getting dreads only getting the place holders for dreds ..defining the sections while damaging the hair (tnr bverylil backcombg moderately crochet severely salons..bombastic devestation

dreads happen over time by leaving it alone

aqlowing hair to do what haor soes when u do nothing to hair to prevent them from dreading

wax prevents dreading

constantly mesing with them prevents tpdreading

dont bother with wax b gone u got nothng worth saving

just comb it ouit

scrub the hell out of it with the hottest water u can stand and lots and lots of dawn dish sopap

over and over till yoir waxfree (might need a whole bi[ottle of dawn waqxs is pure evil)

then

stiop combing

the end

it will dread itself

nio charge

no effort

njo scammy products

just let it happen

Ok. Is there anything I should do if I take the wax and rubber bands out to aid them in forming naturally?
