summer solstice

Greetings friends. Tonight is summer solstice. This marks the moment of the year when the Northern Hemisphere is tilted most toward the sun, but it's also an opportunity for fans of ancient religions, nature photographers and freaks from around the globe to get outside and celebrate the first day of summer.

I will be gathering with hundreds of people on the beach shore of Lake Ontario, with drums in hand & camera.

It is a time of plenty of celebration for us. It is a time to treasure the light, and in turn treasure the light of those we love in our lives.

There are usually bonfires until late. Also blots to the god Thunner for various agricultural blessings. I drank a little mead, but could not celebrate much this year due to headaches.

Took some great pics, need to find the cord for phone to post them. About 40 people at the beach all beating drums, the vibes were amazing.
