so i dont think im gonna find a good quality dread friendly shampoo out here n i dont have the money to order from anywhere else,,

i have a tiny dandruff issue, i use medical shampoo for it which works, but i have to wash my hair with something else before applying that,,

and i wanna know if there's any recipe i can use to make one myself ? i think making ur own dread stuff would be so cool.

thanks ! om !

Wash with baking soda (BS) and rinse with apple cider vinegar (ACV). Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with 5 cups of water. Pour on wet head and leave on for 10-20 minutes..... Rinse well...Next mix 1 caplful of ACV to 5 cups of water, pour on head and rinse. The ACV balances the PH in the hair and is a safe conditioner for dreads. I used this method my entire first year and it works fantastic. The BS exfoliates the scalp, making it all nice and clean. There is no need to scrub the scalp with this method, it cleans on its own, but if you do use hands, use fingertips only. You can add essential oils into the BS wash. Here is a link for essential oils and scalp issues: http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/essential-oils-for-dreads-and-scalp-health

Enjoy your journey, Peace

Forgot to mention: Finish off your cleaning with a cold head rinse, as cold as your head can take. This will also help with the dandruff. Here is another link to read...Peace

But IF you have hard water the BS/ACV won't really work. Get a water filter for your shower head if you do have hard water.
