Help with dreads and work

Im starting work soon and need some advice about what to do with my dreads. Im starting work at a mechanics and from working on my own car know how dirty my hair got. Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to what to do with them? Just tying them up isnt really enough and in hot weather a hat isnt really suitable... My dreads are pretty much shoulder length.

a tam is suitable you will be cooler with them tucked up in a tam then down on youir shoulders and neck

if you get really oily greasy a plastic bag over the dreads under the tam will add extra protection
