I've learned alot more about dreads since I first wanted them. But I still don't know how to get my hair to knot because it's only 3.5 inches long. I want to go the neglect path but I need help to knot my hair, I know it's short but I figure the earlier I start the better. Do I need to stop using regular shampoo? Can someone explain what to do?

How to start?
read the dreaducation tab up top. there is info on neglect method, washing & separating.
all you really need to do is stop brushing, wash with bs/acv or http://shop.dreadlockshampoo.com/ & pull sections away from each other if they start to congo (join up/merge into one). because your hair is short it may take a while for knots to form, but if you are washing right to start out i'm sure it will knot right up once it gets a bit of length. it'll all knot as it grows.
more length is key biotin will help it grow faster but u still got months of growth ahead of you
