washing/roots

My roots become massively congoed every time I wash (They are 3 weeks old). Is this just because they are babies?

Hmm well my dreads are a month and a half old.. i never had that problem though. You might be rubbing the soap or shampoo in to hard. when i wash my hair i very gently massage it into my roots and scalp. just try being very gentle with them that might help!

could be your hair dreads super fest or could be poor sectioning with already criss crossed hairs
