hi, i think i used too much ylang ylang oil (flower) and tea tree oil because my dreads are feeling oily and look greasy. what should i do? rinse them out with water or do another wash without the ols or just let them do their own business? please help me soon because this happened today! thanks

Some essential oils are in fact 'oilier' than others.Just because it's a tincture and alcohol based doesn't necessarily mean that it can't and wont leave a residue even only a few drops over what should be used.I don't know about ylang ylang but I do know from working extensively with it in the past that tea tree oil is indeed quite oily.

I'd like to see someone start a list of essential oils which are best for dreads and those which aren't appropriate like say, because they're too oily or may cause damage.
