misconceptions about dreads

There are so many misconceptions about dreads it's ridiculous. I'm sure we all heard plenty of them. Examples like you never wash your hair. They mean you do drugs. They stink. You have to redo them every day. The list goes on.

What are some of the most ridiculous misconceptions you've heard about dreads?

Like you said, you don't wash your hair, you're homeless, you don't have a good job or a job at all, you probably smell, you're probably lazy.. EtcMost of which are false, depending on the person..

I once told someone that when/if I have a baby that I'm not going to comb there hair, and they told me they would slap me if I did that, the same person after seeing me after a few months was like WOW you look horrible, to which i replied you should see my armpit hair! LOL (this was coming from a family member,)

Bahahaha!!! Love it.. I really wish people would just accept you for who you are instead of criticizing your decisions and way of life..

there are ppl on youtube who used elmers glue and super glue

im sure some have even used bubble gum

The worst thing is that in nursing and maturing dreads if you're White, it is unintentional racism and offensive to Rastas. Despite the fact that Hindu Holy Men have had this for thousands of years, and Celts/Vikings/Egyptians had locks many moons ago I find this one hard to stomach to be honest and gets my back up.
