I recently dreaded my 13 year old daughters hair. I did all my research on line. Youtube etc. I used the back comb method with wax. Now, a few weeks later, the dreads are coming loose @ the roots. What do i do?
12 they sghould be l;oose at tghe rootds for months but 2 wax is evil remove the dreads remove the wax start over usuing twist n rip no wax at all
let them be loose till they tighten

np the roots will loosen more and more for months that provbides movement room to dread they will get up to 1-3 inches loose at the roots ..totaly norrmal then round month 8 tighten up and stop at 1/2 inch
u will always have soose roots tho its nesacarty
over tightening the roots can cause thinning breaking even balding in extreme cases the baldings permenant
so let the roots take care of themselves
but ya ..get that wax out!
is there anyway i can wash the wax out& go from there? Without taking out the dreads?
yes but its very difu=iciult its easier and better to start over
soak in undiluted apple cider vinager 10 min then squeeze em out like toouythpaste squeezing the wax out the ends
then
very hot water near scolding and lots of dawn dish soap scrub like crazy
repeat repeat repeat
if thats not enougg then the orange oil based solvants
idf they are thick or at all tight it can take months and never be sure u got it all thats why if your under a month its best to start over
many have tried for mnths and even were convinced it was all oyut only to be surprised later it want
but if u do decide to try to remove it the more u remove the bettwr
even if u cant get it all
