Curls in straight hair?

I was just wondering if letting your hair dread... washing it but not combing it and whatnot, can let it curl? I have a couple of curls on the side at the nape of my neck that are hanging down and hugging each other. And my hair is very stubborn, so it's nice to see curls. :D

i'm almost 2 months in natural process and i first had some sections forming, then curls came along and now they are getting "straight" and knotted. you ask if dreading you're hair can make it curl?? i think dreading naturally can do ANYTHING to you're hair :P

Ya it does ive got lots of curlys and my hair use to be hella straight

It probably has to do with the facts that it's not being forced into a style n left to do its own thing, and a lack of chemicals. I like my curlies :D
