There isn't much diversity in my town when it comes to dread shops. I was really wanting to purchase some dread beads or peyotes sleeves (maybe make my own) but i really want some authentic looking stuff. I would rather purchase them in a store rather than online so my question is: are there any dread shops/all natual stores in the tinley park/orland park/chicago heighs, IL area?? I live about 2 hours south of chicago so i'm tryin to keep it closer but if i have to i would be willing to visit the city. Or what sort of keywords would i type into a search engine. i've tried 'dreadlock shops' 'dreads' 'dread beads' etc...and nothing really came up around my area besides hair salons :( thanks for any help!

i live pretty close to you :) im in joliet (shittiest mall in illinois probably) and i still find stuff for my hair in this mall. you kinda just have to be creative. go to your 'hippie' store in the mall. i think orland mall has like 3 lol we have a place called hot rags here, and look at the rings and bracelets and things. i just found a bracelet that worked perfectly for a dangle in my hair. i dont think ive found anything for my dreads that actually says theyre made for dreads.. i just keep my eye out for things that works. i even found stuff at clairs. i would assume head shops would possibly have some stuff that could work too, im planning on going to the ones around here in the next week. good luck though!

Woo! Thank you! I live about 45 minutes away from orland so I'll prob just go there since their mall is wayyy better than mine in Bourbonnais haha i was just hoping to find one of those tiny shops tucked away in the corner somewhere in all those strip malls in that area. I remember going to this psychic shop in tinley when i was in high school and they had a lot of cool stuff there but it must have closed :( I was hoping to find some of those healing stones as well. Those sound bad ass! xD Thanks again for your help!
