Welcome to the community Nathaniel. Glad you found the best site on the web to grow healthy, happy dreadlocks. The dreaducation section at the top of the site is a good place to start off with. You can use the search bar near the top left to type in any key words to read postings by other members on that subject. You are lucky, you live in an area with softer water, that means you can use many different dread shampoos that are on the market and they will not leave a residue behind, the baking soda/acv rinse will also work well for you. Enjoy your journey, thanks for joining us all here......peace
Welcome. Like Eagle said, felting is the worst thing for locks. It shreds your hair. Crocheting just rips it into pieces. Palm rolling will severely destroy your roots (beyond repair if you do it daily for long enough. I did it daily for 2 weeks, and 7 years later I'm still trying to fix the damage).
Root rubbing does nothing but thins out your roots. It makes them incredibly weak.
