For as long as the wax is there, water and moisture will get trapped allowing mold/mildew to grow in your hair. Eventually they can begin to rot and cause severe problems.
Also, what are you washing with? Just dunking them in the ocean doesn't clean them

they dont do this to try to dread dreads happen as a result of a religios vow

welcome unfortunatly its not enough to stop using wax its still in there even 5 years later and is pure evil u must remove it asap to save your dreads
