Welcome. Palm rolling is either pointless or damaging. It's nothing in between. If you are palm rolling that much, stop. You are really hurting your locks. The damage is something that doesn't show up right away like other methods. It's a damage you will see in a year when your hair grows out a bit. But what it does is really weaken your roots. Check out my video on why not to palm roll. http://www.dreadlockssite.com/video/why-not-to-palm-roll
Aloe is a conditioner. It will make you locks look neat for a little, but it slows down progress. It's great if you really need something to use to make them look nice for a special event, but shouldn't be used very often unless you have african textured hair
You'd use a TINY amount. Roll it in your palms. Then GENTLY palm roll it onto your locks. You can use a tiny amount and get a few locks with it. All you're looking for is to tame the loose hairs. You're not looking to get it deep inside your hair.
Aloes does condition, so when you wash it out, it may loosen up some knots a bit, but as they mature, that won't matter.
You'd use the locking gel in the same way. it doesn't leave any residue, and washes out in plain water easily. It even starts to degrade on it's own in a day or 2
Welcome. but if you want to look nice for special occasions, check out the locking gel from dreadlockshampoo.com. If that's inconvenient, use pure aloe gel from the plant
