Hair Shrinkage on young locks.

General Questions

I like that both of you are personifying locks altogether hahaI don't actually care about how much they shrink, I just wish other people would understand that there is no set before to after shrinkage ratio. even if its your hair that you have seen shrink before, under different circumstances your locks may be completely different next time.and i do like to cuddle mine!haha, the day i had them again i thought "my carry along pillow has returned!!"they make me veryyy happyand i let em know

Hair Shrinkage on young locks.

General Questions

see this is really bothering me, because my last set of locks shrank by about 3 1/2 inches [give or take 1/2 inch], however my hair was layered drastically and bleached/dyed. some hair was 12 inches, some was 6 some was even 4my current set 21 days old were back-combed tightly and all my hair was natural/equal in length, just lying on my shoulders. now the hair on the nape of my neck is just grazing my shoulders, and the rest is at my chin. My hair was naturally fine and curly, but i have a lot of it.are you saying i'm going to lose much more length? My last set stopped shrinking at 8 mos. I think it really has a lot to do with your length when you start, your type of hair and the way you take care of it. also I found last time around that blunting the tips causes them to lock up, quicker and much more tightly, an takes about another inch off of your length.crazy.below is my current length, although this picture makes it look about 1 inch shorter since its taken from below eye level.chya

I just though of the perfect response to that article.......if someone has a jar of dhhq wax and the ability to post videos on youtube. On the video explain that you have "The perfect way to use dhhq wax!" What it was meant to be...A candle. Push a wick down into the wax on video and light it.

dreading the 1st few weeks of dreading

Dreading Methods

I agree! I agree that those sites are bad, however I also agree that its wonderful - this sort of dread revolution going on. Also I would've loved to have been able to do it completely by neglect, however my 1st was done that way and many just ripped out, congoed and etc.,This is fine if you are in a position in life where you can just grow and gobut it doesn't mean you aren't with the flow if you backcomb. I personally am a student and have 2 somewhat professional jobs in which it is really beneficial to have had my locs formed through backcombing.........and they're beautiful!!!! and so are neglected, and so will the dreadheads be from all those awful websites, when they realize its about love and growing.......and not wax..lmao. Its the process not the outcome!!! its all about the spirit, and whatever suits your life :] Iain said:
lol it's all good, :)

in a way though the fact that more people are becoming open to the idea of living with dreadlocks is a good thing as in time I think that less people will have to worry about "ohh if I start to dread my hair i won't be able to get a job" or my family will disown or even the stupid stereotype that dreads are dirty.
