wandered back...

Loc'd up April 2012... contrary to a comment on my profile - mine started as back comb, but are now neglect only (plus a couple of colorful extensions)... no wax, no crochet.  Hair is 80% gray, knotty and awesome.  Folks comment regularly on my "courage" for rockin' the locs at 47 and while working in a "professional" environment.  Lol... nothing brave about it... just is...

They exist solely for me, and tie in with my attempts to live a simplified life (shooting for minimalist).  Tiny living, sustainable lifestyle - rooted in compassion and environmentalist beliefs.

My Grandmother asks me everytime I see her now.."So, when are you going to take those out?" my reply  "@o@ NEVA"

I am the grandmother (or "Oma").... my grandson only remembers me with them (he's almost 6).  My own grandmother's been dead for a decade -- but I think if she were still alive, she'd think they were pretty cool and encourage me to keep being "me."  She was one of my greatest inspirations for following my own drum -- I will always be grateful to her for helping me to live life to my own standards,  <3
