Has anyone ever experience dread on dread discrimination ? I had an experience , I was in a store when two young men walked in and they both had perfect dreads no lose hairs nice and tight you knew they were salon dreads so as they pass I hear the one say to the other " check out this guys mess " this did not really bother me . Just wondering if anyone else has had any other dreads hate on them.

I can't believe somebody made a bad comment about yr dreads. They look awsome and the way they are meant to be .... natural. I see you started out with wool rubbing. How long was yr hair when you done that and how lond did you do it for? I'm like 4 months neglect and my hair is 4 inch's and wondered if this would help?

I have had the same experience, its really sad how judgemental ppl can be. Having dreads was never meant to be a status symbol or a way to think you're better cause of the way someone has decided to do them. I find that when I see ppl with dreads i just get reallyexcited I love dreads soo I dont see being judgemental about them to be healthy.

A lot of people my age or younger get dreads for fashion and don't appreciate natural threafs. They don't understand them and associate filth, laziness, etc. With it like others have in the past even though they have dreadlocks too.

I haven't had anyone come out and say something about my hair, but I live in a mostly black neighborhood, and have gotten "looks" from the people around. Some looks are smiles, some are laugs and some are discust. Either way, I am learning to not care what they think. I agree that people who have salon dreads, or who cake their dreads up with chemicals and products to make them look good, are all about looking good quick. They don't appreciate natural... Then again, alot of people nowa days, don't appreciate natural... :(

Yep I think if alot more ppl did their home work first before talking about somebody else the dread world would be a better place.
