let it become a new dread

when you separate dreads..you break the hairs connecting the 2 dreads together and get that scalp fuzz that then gets longer and when long enough becomes a new dread

the roots will always feel thinner and weaker since they arent dreaded and u can squeeze them flat

but they are fine to just be left alone

washing and seperating are the only things dreads ever need

Welcome to the community fellow Canuck! Well, you are to lazy to do much maintenance, let me help you out then. All you need to do is wash and separate any joining sections....how easy is that! Let your dreads finish maturing on their own and you will never have to do a thing. Since you used the crochet hook a few times, it may take another year for your dreads to mature. Let those broken loose hair from the hook poke out, the will get sucked back into the dreads all on their own. If you want your dreads for many years to come or for a lifetime, then you should stop using the hook, That causes you to have no full length strands of hair left, and that is what is needed to support the dreads. So now lazy girl, you can have more time for sleep!.....peace

did you know that water type plays a roll with what we wash our dreads with. If you have soft water, any dread shampoo or bar can be used, but with hard water, many of those same ones will slowly leave a residue build up over time...

welcome but u should never crochet it does extreme harm and 1 use delays progress by 6 months it also creates loose hairs by breaking hairs by the hundreds

they need no maintenence except wash and seperate

crochet only makes them neee d more crochet till they break
