they never should be any tighter then they are by leavingthem alone

when u fiorce tighten the excessive tighteness ids what causes traction alopecua

they will naturaly tighten to 1/2 inch from the scalp and stay there that alows movement so they dread on thier own

read up on here on why you should never twist dreads and look around at the serius harm it causes

twisting only works in african hair types and thats why so many with that type hair have traction alopeciame but twists

the crochet was a bad idea though that causes extreme damage (much worse as maintenance tho) anhd 1 use to start delays dreading by 6 months and can take up to 3 years to lose the stiffness and the harsh crochetted look..if done tight anyway

throw the hook in the trash and look over the crochet recovery info here
