I'd recommend stop thinking about how old they are and enjoy the ride. The less you think about how old they are and how messy they are, just go about being yourself. The more you think about them, the more you think you need to "fix" them. This will make you dependent on your locks and how others view you with them. When you care about how people see your locks, you're missing the point. Locks are easy and require no maintenance. They take care of themselves. All you need to do is wash and separate them.
