welcome well unless they are already huge and too tightly dreaded together you should be able to just pull them apart while wet
the groomers an idiot all long enough hair will dread
but u need to seperate them so they dont become 1 huge dread wich means while the dogs hairs damp just go through and pull each away from eachother
if it hasnt been done then it will cause him some pain..lot less when its damp but as long as its done often enough its only a few hairs at most that need to be seperated and when wet wont feel as thing
but if they are alowed to get too tight bound together thenthey are too hard to pull apart

I recommend leaving the lime out though.
It's too acidic. It seeps into the inside of the hair slowly breaks it down
