Welcome to the community and to the best site on the web to learn all about healthy dreadlocks. Your hair is short, but will separate right now, so you can begin your journey. There is a product that encourages hair growth called Biotin, and be found in the vitamin section of your local drug store for under $10. In 3 months you will see a difference in length. Just take 6000mcg strength a day, if you can't find that strength, just add up the pills to equal it......peace

Welcome to the community Tyler, I see Soaring Eagle has given you good advice. Growing dreadlocks is a wonderful, wild ride not to be missed. Many changes will happen until they mature. Start off by reading the dreaducation section if you have not already, many good tips on there.

If you have hard water, www.dreadlockshampoo.com will work perfectly for you, they sell bars and liquid, if you have soft water, you can use any dread products and they will work fine. With the hard water, most will leave behind a residue build up and don't work as they should. Here is a map for you to see what type you have, I could not quite figure it out for you.

enjoy your journey...peace
