i pretty much just wash it now and its locking up decently on its own.. i made the mistake of not letting my hair grow out long enough and did the twist and rip at 4 inchs on top and 3 in the back so some of the back isnt quite dreading up well because of that also. other than washing i just palm rolloccasionallyand i leave some rubber bands in where i dont trust the dread to fully hold up but most are gone now. I shampoo my hair about every 2-3 days that can affect how it loosens it up also.. but yeah mainly i just let it do its thing

Awesome bro you lookin to do dreads? Do your research.. all I actually did was have a hair dresser section my hair into the sizes I wanted .. then I twist and ripped them myself. Some advice is if you decide to go this route get someone to do your back or it takes longer to start dreading and if you need help with anything hit me up man

ask them exactly what they do if they use any tools or products ask what they recomend for after they do it..write down every detail then ask me or us before u commit

the natural traditional wayy is still the best way however not everyone choses that way
why is it best> theyre healthiest strongest most organic and unique how to get ewm stop combing and conditioning wait for it to dread and seperate any growing too thick..hey are spiritual u learn patience learn to let go of vanifty not care so much what others think
next best way is twist n rip (unless your black then twists theres several types that work diferent in the diferent types of hair) if not black twist n rip gives u a head staert on the dreads and gives u a lil more control over the size and placement..still low damage
backcombes an option i am not a fan u look goofy awhile and does moderate ammount of damage
read the dreaducation page for more but other methods are not recomended at all

nooooo the knitting methods crochet a horrible idea very very very bad
