Welcome. Every time you crochet, you break hairs. This makes more and more hairs that will stick out and make your locks look fuzzy and need more maintenance. If you just leave them alone, those loose hairs will get sucked into your locks and look clean by themselves.

Crocheting only destroys locks and makes them take longer and longer to form mature locks.

They look like they always need to be fixed because you keep having a hook shoved through them. Crochet is extremely damaging to dreads. After 3 years, they are likely very damaged. It causes all the broken/loose hairs that you are seeing.Do your best to save them and stop that "maintenance" immediately. Just wash 1-3 times a week and let them recover.
