After a month I just cut my hair at the spur of the moment.

Didn't have too much of a reason to cut them besides my job and people looking at me like I'm strange, I guess I just don't live in a place where I can have(developing) dreads...next to all this, I'm a shitty care taker anyway so...I don't feel I've lost anything, anyway, they'll grow back and Ill try again.

In the mean time I need a girlfriend -____-

Read this guys story. I think it'll help you out a lot. He's the one Eaglesreferringto about them saving his life.

Everyone who joins this site seems to be willing to talk and listen to everyone else's stories. You should message him. I'm sure the 2 of you would become close if you would both open up to each other

it sounds like it but you know y=-your commitment to dreading ..is a direction..forward.. dreading has cured anorexia many times which although isnt the same as what yor dealing with the causes ar e simular i bet yoir under alot of pressure to be persfect to have a whole carreer mapped out and have yoir life togerther and you feel like yoir not able to live up to expectations and you feel like yoit not going anywhere caue yoir not alowed to go wgere u want to go instead u ar pushed in directioms that dont feel right to you..

thios makes yiu feelk lose[t..hopeless like your unable to do anything right so why bother trying to do it at all

dreading isd about hot having to pleaseanyone else and to not have to control teverythung yiu can just let go..let it happen..be yiurself but the you you want to be niot the you yoir expected to be..if you stuck it out youd ve a happeier stronger person look how evetyone here says drads have chsnged them for the better..its true hell 1 guy it saved his life id say.. dreading can do the same for you but u have to see it through..and the natural journey is the most powerful profiound wwaty so thats the way yoiur starting today..and sticking with it till the end

Without sounding as negative as below, I lack direction entirely.

It all comes down to being young with no passions, ambitions, motivations, hardly any social skills and not knowing what to do about it or why it even matters - that is the ball of shit

your a ball of shit/ why do yiu say that are yiou depressed/

you have low self esteem? you know..your dreads would have cured that negativity

you should..no..you need to..stick it out..you need to dread for your mental and emotional heaklth i dont know how u started last time but you need to do it naturaly..spirity=ualy ..you need to make a commitment to dreading for life

thats my prescription..and im not joking about it ..its something you must do..to save you..to beyou.. to guide you you cant let yourself suffer this negativuty you need your dreads like anteneas to a higher calling bur[]t also a sheilsd to protect you from the negativity arounf[d tyou

and

to protect you from the negative thoughts within you

I figure I don't want to be having dreads if Im not being awesome about it you know? sure people think what they think about a persons hair, I accept that, and it doesn't bother me too much. I'm kinda of a ball of shit so I cut them.

Unfortunately it's too late, but part of growing locks is learning how to deal with peoples reaction to them. I understand that it can be disheartening. I've had mine for over 5 years (close to 6), and my parents still tell me that I should cut them My mom always offers to take me to a salon to have them done "neat". it's something we all deal with. But you're right. They will grow back. maybe next time you will be ready to see that people who look at you funny or make snide remarks are not worth dealing with. Anyone who would judge you because your locks are not mature and fully developed is not a true friend.

As for work, it may seem like you can' have them at many jobs, but if you are growing them for spiritual reasons, according to the first amendment, you have a right to wear your locks just like muslims and jews can wear their head piece. The only time that it's understandable for an employer to not hire you because of them is if they are a safety hazard. Firemen have to wear masks, airforce pilots need to wear masks, pretty much any job that requires a mask you personal safety, it's impossible to have locks, because they'd get in the way. But for any other job, you could tie them back or wear a tam/bandanna/ scarf. But constitutionally speaking, if you are not just growing them for a fashion, and really have a spiritual connection to your hair and the process, you have legalprecedenceto fight for your job. Most employers are allowed to not hire you because of your hair.
