indeed bro! wax is horrible for your hair and prevents locking. get it out and save a lot of headache down the road! Welcome to the site and community!
If it's unopened, you could try and return it. But Knotty Boy is very difficult to get your money back from. If you don't feel like the hassle, chalk it up to loss and throw it out
Welcome. But wax will actually prevent your hair from ever locking. Wax just sticks hairs together making them look like locks, but not actually maturing into them.
In order for locks to mature, they need to get tangly, loopy, bumpy, there needs to be loose hairs for a while. In time, those hairs get sucked into a lock. But that takes months/years sometimes. On average, it takes a full year for locks to mature. There are plenty of ways to make it take longer: crocheting, wax, root rubbing... But there is no way to make it happen faster.
Because wax is a hydrocarbon, it will never wash out in normal soap and water too. It NEEDS a detergent to clean it out. That and a lot of scrubbing. How often did you use wax? Do you use any of their other products? Knotty Boy and DHHQ love to make money on damaging products so that they can make more money on more damaging products that say they fix the initial problems.
