and thank you, my last set of dreads i backcombed my hair and used a crochet hook, i liked them but always regreted not going natural which is what im doing now..
im just washing my hair every 3 days with dr.bronners castile soap ( this is a residue free soap) you can find it online it works great leaves your hair really clean and takes out all the stuff that shouldnt be in there, moisturizing and shiny stuff that regular shampoo and conditioner puts in your hair
im not combing my hair at all pretty much just letting it do what it wants, only thing i will be doing is washing and seperating my hair (to prevent it from just becoming one huge dread)

good place to start learning would be with some of the tabs at the top of the page "dreaducation" "dread methods" and "dread maintence"
