welcome i hate to say it but crochets 1 of the worse methods if its only done one time to start its not as severely bad but it makes them too tight to dread delaying progress by 6 months makes them sstiff and scratchy andf high maintenance cause everytime u crochet u break hairs..then need to crochet those back in breaking more..it can even eventualy weaken them enough to break
it takes 6 months to start dreading after 1 use of the hook
but can take 3 years to lose the stiffness and crochetted look
i really hope you dont plan on maintaining with the hook
Welcome. Unfortunately, crocheting is one of the most damaging things that cane be done to locks. With each pass of the hook, it rips hairs into smaller and smaller pieces. This over tightens your hair, causing scalp problems, as well as weakens the locks integrity. If you only crocheted once to start, it's not so bad. But it does take about 6 months to recover from each session. After a while, locks can't recover, and they do start snapping off in places. Hopefully you only did it once
